We are back in the USA and have been home since Feb. 1st. Sorry it has taken me so long to get things posted on the blog. Here is an account of our second trip to the Pyramids.
We were able to take a second trip to the Pyramids on our last day in Egypt 1-29-13. Below is a buggy with raw meat on the back, with at least three people sitting on the meat.

Beautiful Day!
The group at The Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Pyramid of Cheops.
One of the smaller step pyramids next to the Great Pyramid.
The building where they have the "Solar Boat". Buried near the Great Pyramid, the buried boats were likely intended to assist Pharaoh Khufu on journeys during the afterlife. The Solar Boat was discovered under large slabs of cut limestone, and the boat was reassembled and put on display in an air-conditioned building next to the Pyramid of Khufu.

Ropes that were remaining from the Solar Boat, I can barely imagine that these ropes are
from four thousand, five hundred years ago.
From here we walked around the pyramid and then down to the Sphinx.

Talking to the locals.
Having fun with our shadows. Locals selling their goods at the foot of the Sphinx.
As we left the Sphinx, we encountered a horse, just walking down the street...no owner or halter or lead strap.
From here we went to have lunch at the base of the Pyramids at the same restaurant we visited the first time at the Pyramids.
Men would stop traffic and try to find people who would be willing to pay for a ride to the Pyramids in their horse drawn buggy. This and the traffic was our lunch time entertainment.
If the men found a willing customer, they would ride on the back of their car to their buggy. Claiming their customers. They would jump in traffic in front of the cabs (white cars) who had tourists in them.
